Vernon Town Offices

On behalf of the Town of Vernon, I'm delighted that you have found our community's website!
J. Randall Watson, Supervisor

Hello Town of Vernon Residents,

I would like to introduce myself as your newly elected Town Supervisor J. Randall Watson. As I begin this journey serving the residents of the Town of Vernon, I would like to thank all of you who elected me. I consider this a great honor. One of my goals as Town Supervisor is to bring more businesses to the town.
I have lived in Vernon for 26 years, 25 of which have been with my wife Brenda and we are proudly raising our 5 children here. Many of you may remember my days as a restauranteur. Presently, I work full time for SYSCO as a sales representative.
At this time, the Town has many exciting and yet challenging projects. Here is an update on just a few:
The Vernon Town Board and the Vernon Village Board are working together diligently on the Youngs Road Water Project. Also, we are happy to announce that the Town has received our FEMA reimbursements for the Skinner Road Bridge and other roads that were affected by the flood in 2013.
Thank you again for all of your support and I will do my best to live up to all the expectations and duties of Town Supervisor. I wish everyone a wonderful summer. Enjoy the beautiful area in which we live.

Sincerely,

Randy Watson
Supervisor

Please take some time to browse this website. We have compiled information about our community, business, and surrounding area for both current residents and future visitors.

In recent cases, local residents, businesses and governments have had to pay the costs of disasters. Incidents across the country have impacted local communities, emergency responders and demanded costly recovery efforts due to chemical contamination of water, rail car explosions, flash flooding, freezing temperatures and damage to businesses, homes and public infrastructure.

On August 19, 2013, the Town Board, Town of Vernon, passed a resolution to “… create a Safety and Emergency Planning Task Force to convene conversations with such emergency responders, businesses, not-for-profit organizations, faith-based organizations, tribal leadership and the Town Board to consider the safety and emergency issues affecting the Town, both now and in the future.”
Dr. Tom Phelan of Vernon Center will present the Whole Community Doctrine from FEMA and its implications for local residents and governments. The meeting will focus on local preparation, response and recovery. The proposed Task Force will be an effort to include all local interests in safety and emergency planning for the Town of Vernon.
The meeting is open to the public.
